Welcome to McKell Therapy Group!

We look forward to getting to know you. We believe that you will find our clinic different from other clinics that you may be familiar with, so we would like to take a minute to get you acquainted with McKell Therapy Group.

Your first visit will take approximately 60-90 minutes. The physical therapist will spend time evaluating your condition and setting up a treatment plan. In most cases, you will also receive your first treatment. Your subsequent visits will normally last about an hour.

Your treatment will likely include a variety of modalities such as heat, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction, etc… During each visit, you will also receive individualized, one on one, hands-on care from the therapist. Since all of these components are essential to your recovery, please arrive on time and allow enough time in your schedule to accommodate your treatment.

Due to time and insurance billing procedures, your treatment needs to focus on the primary problem. If you have an additional problem, mention it to the physical therapist and he can best address it after your first injury has been resolved.

How does Physical Therapy help?

Often times when people think of physical therapy, they think of exercise. While this is an important component of physical therapy, we believe that many injuries involving the musculoskeletal system, acute and chronic, respond even more effectively when manual therapy is incorporated into the treatment plan. Manual therapy is a very focused hands-on approach that will stimulate and rehabilitate the soft tissues (i.e. muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc.). It targets the problem area and is significantly more therapeutic than a simple massage. This individualized type of treatment addresses the problems in your muscles, increases the effectiveness of exercises and reduces the likelihood of re-injury.

Insurance-- Am I covered?

For the most part, major medical insurance plans cover physical therapy. We accept all forms of insurance and are a preferred provider with most insurance companies. If we aren’t on your provider panel, we can usually make arrangements to minimize your out of pocket costs. If you do not have insurance, we offer a cash payment option. Each insurance company has different requirements in order for your treatment to be covered. Some require a referral or prescription from your doctor. Others require patient notification or some other paper work. We will do our very best to be aware of these requirements and make you aware of them as well. Your patience with us as we work together to get your treatment covered is very much appreciated.

Price List

We want to provide the best possible treatment to aide in your recovery. Unfortunately, some items and or portions of the treatment are not covered by your insurance. If you will be receiving these items or services, please be aware that you will need to provide payment at the time of service. Some of those items or services include, but are not limited to: taping, ankle braces, foam rollers and orthotics.

What is my Co-Payment?

Most insurance companies require you to pay a portion of the charges for each visit, either as a co-insurance (a percentage) or a co-payment (usually a flat fee). Co-pays are to be paid at the time of treatment. If your insurance requires you to pay a deductible or co-insurance amount, we will do our best to approximate the cost of your treatment. You can then make a partial payment, understanding that we will bill (or reimburse) you for the difference as necessary. We collect co-pays at the time of check in and accept cash, checks, Visa, Discover, MasterCard and American Express.

Scheduling Appointments

Appointments are available on the hour from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We recommend that you schedule your appointments in advance to ensure that you are able to come when it is most convenient for you. Early morning and late evening appointments fill up fast, so if you need to come in during these times, schedule ahead of time. Obviously we cannot always accommodate everyone’s schedule, so if we are full at the time you would prefer to come, ask to be placed on the call list. You will see the greatest benefit from your treatment if you commit to come 2 to 3 times a week for at least the first two weeks. Please let us know 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel an appointment. We do reserve the right to charge a non-cancellation fee for missed appointments.

Once again, welcome to McKell Therapy Group. We are glad you have chosen us and we look forward to meeting your physical therapy and rehabilitation needs.
